Global Challenges in Reproductive Health: Evidence and Tools for Programme Implementation Download Content Overview

  • Global health relevant to reproductive health and its challenges
  • Strategies, frameworks and tools (eg developed by WHO, UNAIDS, UNFPA) for Improving and managing reproductive health in the health system with a focus on Particular Appropriate indicators, planning processes and service provision
  • The neglected SRH agenda like infertility, new family planning methods, male sexual health, health of vulnerable groups eg sex worker.
Learning Objectives At the end of the module students Should Be fashionable to:

  • Analysis of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) policy in its historical context
  • Critically assess assurance the global challenges through the evaluation of evidence from RH program and policies
  • Apply the tools required for reproductive health programs implementation
  • Critically discuss neglected topics of the reproductive health agenda

The strategy of the course Focuses on participatory learning process: interactive lectures, individual case study, debate, role play, movies with discussion, group project.

  • 50%: Individual written assignment of case study (1000 words)
  • 20%: Quiz
  • 15%: Debate
  • 15%: Group Project
  • 2 weeks / 90 hours SIT (75 contact hours : lecture 30h, 45h group work / participatory learning + 15 self-study hours)
  • Full time attendance required.
  • 3 ECTS (tropEd Master in International Health)
  • Public health professionals, social scientists, paramedical staff, project planners / co-ordinators, medical doctors, tropEd students;
  • The course is held in English. Fluency in English (Reading, Speaking, Writing) required.
  • General Admittance € 1, 500;
  • tropEd students 1, 000 €.

A non-refundable registration fee of € 200, whichwill be credited towards the tuition fee, is due no later than 8 weeks prior to the start of the course. The Remaining tuition fee is due not later than 6 weeks prior to the start of the course. Unfortunately, no scholarships are available.
